At Language Hub, we believe that a qualified teacher is the best choice for professional, structured, and verifiable education.
Our teaching team consists of university-educated professionals. Most of our colleagues are proficient in two or more foreign languages and continue to deepen their expertise.
The organizational and administrative support of education at Language Hub is based on the Moodle system. This internationally recognized open-source platform is used for accessing course folders, recording attendance, sharing materials, creating test assignments, and evaluating studies.
As a student, you will find all the information related to your course(s) in the assigned course folder, along with the calendar of scheduled lessons, including the option to cancel them.
From the course folder, students and instructors enter the virtual classroom (in the case of an online course).
Online education is provided through the BigBlueButton system. This open-source system, developed specifically for distance learning needs, is immediately accessible thanks to its direct integration with Moodle and includes all the features necessary for interactive work in the virtual classroom.
All systems are hosted on our own servers in the Czech Republic.
The cancellation of lessons is subject to the Terms and Conditions of the language course. If made within the specified time frames before the scheduled lesson, the cancellation is considered timely and incurs no fees.
Cancellations can be made through the system, via email, or by phone.
Translations
Computer-assisted translation (CAT) uses specialized software to assist human translators in their work. The process is faster, more accurate, and ensures that the source and target files have the same formatting.
At Language Hub, we use the OmegaT program.
Intepreting
Consecutive Interpreting
Consecutive interpreting is a method of conveying a speaker's message into the target language after specific, typically logical sections. The speaker pauses during their speech, allowing the interpreter to render their message to the listener during these breaks.
Consecutive interpreting is common during business negotiations.
Liaison Interpreting
Liaison interpreting refers to a service where the interpreter accompanies the client to a specific location and facilitates communication, providing additional explanations if necessary.
This type of interpreting is commonly used during meetings with authorities, at banks, or in situations where court interpreting is not required.
Simultaneous Interpreting
Simultaneous interpreting is used at larger events where the interpreter listens to the speaker and translates their speech to the audience in real-time, using interpreting technology such as booths, headphones, and microphones.
A more affordable alternative, requiring no special equipment, is whispered interpreting, where the interpreter softly conveys the speaker’s message directly into the listener’s ear. This method is suitable for small groups of up to three people.
